Audi A4 B9 review from a newbie
Interior: I was blown away by the refinement and quality of the materials. I don’t believe there is any car out there under $50k that looks this good inside (Yes, not even Lexus, BMW,etc)
Ride: Audi a4 b9 steering wheel huge difference coming from my G37. While I loved the performance in the Infiniti, the NVH (Noise Vibration Harshness) was a bit too much for daily driving for a brand that’s supposed to be in the luxury segment. The A4 is EXTREMELY quiet and comfortable. I fee like I can literally drive for several hours without getting tired. And all the features and technology makes it a great place to spend time behind the wheel.
Performance: Can’t really talk much on this…since I’m not pushing it hard during the break-in period. But so far power delivery is smooth and quick. Passing vehicles on the highway is a breeze.
Exterior: Loving the new headlight/tail lights design. Folding mirrors, new front grill, etc. Some people say it looks too much like the B8, boring, etc. I think it looks classy, aggressive, and very luxurious.
Overall I’m loving the vehicle and can’t wait to learn all the features and experience all the fun from driving this amazing car. I look forward to driving it every day.
Audi A4 B9 one of the best cars in the world, says Top Gear
Now this is somewhat surprising. Normally cars that are much more fun to drive gets such seal of approval, but the Top Gear team says “polish matters”, and they weigh just as much as performance.
Top Gear’s road testers said: “With the A4, Audi focused on the stuff most people care about: a quiet, comfy cabin, tech to make your jaw slacken and some genuine ride quality.” The A4 cuts easily through the air with a low drag coefficient of 0.23, and when matched to their new range of economical yet powerful engines (with coasting feature), yields substantially better mileage than the model it replaces.
Then there’s the new five-link front and rear suspension, delivering the kind of absorbency and control that “enables a multitude of miles to be covered seemingly effortlessly, without ruling out incisive handling”. And among the in-car tech highlights that are truly impressive are the Audi Smartphone Interface with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and of course the 12.3-inch wholly digital Audi Virtual Cockpit which never flickers, ever.
Back at home, the A4 B9 is available in three flavours: 1.4 TSI, 2.0 TFSI and 2.0 TFSI quattro. However, only the mid-spec 2.0 TFSI is on sale for now, with the remaining two due for market introduction by Q1 2017. The A4 2.0 TFSI is priced at RM249k before options, and comes with a 4-Year or 120,000km warranty package.
The mid-sized Audi A4 dates back to 1994, and is one of the mainstays of the German luxury brand’s line.
Its Audi a4 b9 steering wheel main rivals are other mid-sized luxury cars like the BMW 3 Series and Mercedes-Benz C-Class. An all-new A4, known as the B9, launched worldwide in 2016, and includes a four-door sedan, four-door Avant wagon and a two-door convertible. Prices start at $55,900 for the A4 35 Tfsi Mhev up to $72,900 for the A4 Allroad 45 Tfsi Quattro Mhev.
The A4 is powered by an array of turbocharged petrol and diesel engines and can be had in both front- and all-wheel drive variants. It’s also spawned offshoots like the A5 coupe, the S4 sports sedan and wagon and the potent RS4.
